The Portrait Lighting Course

This course is designed to give photographers an understanding of Portrait Lighting techniques, and starts at the very beginning! So even if you have never even seen a studio light before you will not feel out of place. Once you have mastered the basics and learnt all the rules you can then go off and practice them - and then break them - thats what makes great photographs!
The course is limited to around 15 delegates so there is plenty of time for shooting your own pictures with as much help as you require. A packed weekend and some great images to show for it!
The first day covers starting from scratch:
What sort of lighting?
How do flash heads work?
What do the accessories do?
Simple set-ups with one light, adding a second light, use of control accessories, adding a third light, posing and handling the subject.
On the second day we look at:
Using softboxes and reflectors in greater detail.
Lighting a white background. Not lighting a black one!
Shooting Kids!
Wet wedding photography by balancing flash and daylight. (Making your pictures stand out!)
Finishing up with some amazing results from the incredible Elinchrom Octa Light Bank that will really whet your appetite.

We normally have one model on the Saturday and two on the Sunday plus a baby or young child so plenty of scope!
All the lighting, backgrounds, accessories and models will be provided and a copy of Chriss Lighting Guide will be supplied. All you then need is a pen, paper and an open mind!
Tea, coffee and biscuits are supplied free and are available all day in the on-site kitchen. A buffet lunch is also provided on both days (please advise us of any special dietary needs).
